  This lecture teaches modern solid state physics based on size effects, dimensionality and quantum phenomena.

• Lab Exercises 1: Mechanics and Thermodynamics

  Acquiring skills in experimental techniques - mechanics. After this lab, the students should be able to independently use and explain the used instruments and systems and to analyze and interpret the results and uncertainties of the measurements.

  Simple physical problems are formulated and solved interactively. The topics are chosen parallel to the lecture Physics 2, therefore topics are electrodynamics and optics.
